Taft's Post

Hi, this is my first time writing on the blog, and I have a few things talk about from the last few months. First things, is that we car a new car. It is a Chrysler Town&Country, year 2005. It is white and very nice to drive in. Here are some pictures of our new van after I washed it.

Also I ran track this year. I was pretty successful. My event that i focused on is the 800. 2 laps around a track. I placed 7th at our District Qualifying meet against some of the best runners in the state. Then I went on to get forth place at districts With a time of 2:06. Then i got to go to state as an alternate for the 4x4 team. It was a lot of fun to watch the state athletes. I do have a video of my fastest 800 race, here it is... I am wearing green and have yellow shoes.

Other things that i have done this year. I wrote and illustrated a children's book about a prince that goes on a journey to find a princess. It was for my senior project. I graduated from high school. The Knowles 4x4 team got ran another race I got my eagle scout award. For my Eagle project i planted trees at a park called green lake. Happy Mother's Day from Eliza!

     Hey there! Eliza here! For mother's day, I decided that there probably would not be a better present for Grammy Beth than to present her with an entry on the blog!!! :) yea! 

     Okay so on May 2 I was able to participate in an event called the Solo and Ensemble Contest. This event is for all the musicians in the Sno-King region. Kids from everywhere come and perform a piece for an adjudicator, who is a professional musician, and then receive a workshop of sorts on the piece that they  performed. I performed twice, both vocally and on the piano. Vocally was more just for fun. I sang in a quartet with three of my friends but it ended up being very successful. The piano performance however was a lot more heavily weighted. The song I played was called Waltz in C# minor by Frederick Chopin, and was probably the most difficult thing I have ever played. But it too was successful and I received the highest score possible. This event was very helpful to my musical career and I was able to have a fun time with it. 

    My piano teacher has a recording studio in his house and has a cool little website where he puts recorded songs performed by his students. I had the opportunity to record the song I played for the Solo Ensemble and he has placed it on there. April fools

Abigail here, again On April fools day I decided to play some tricks on my family. Here's a list of some of the things my minion (Thaddeus) and I did:

• switched the cereals
• switched the granola bars
• put Vaseline on the doorknobs
• put the comics in the sports section
• put a rat in moms cup
• and put plastic creatures all over moms shower

I only got pictures of moms shower so here they are.

Last Saturday and Sunday I sat in front of the TV for 480 minutes in 2 days. We were watching General Conference. One of the things I played with during that time was clay. Snitch and Scout were down there, and they inspired me. I grabbed my big clump of yellow and started to make something.


I named my creation Sneetch!!!

Crazy Hair

On Friday, March 27, 2009 it was crazy hair day at school. Me having long hair knew I had to do something. So mom did my hair and this is how it turned out!!!!! Everybody loved my hair including me!!

Thaddeus Dale Knowles!!

Our house has a very unique character, our Thaddeus! Since our grandmother has insisted that every child do a blog entry regularly, little Thaddeus has been eager to do his blog. So this entry is going to be about things that Thaddeus picks himself to be recorded. (Eliza is doing all of the actual recording, with Thaddeus dictating.
This previous week, we rented the movie "High School Musical 3". Thaddeus being much like his older brother Trevor, can never just sit through the movie, he has to be doing what they are doing in the movie. The dance scenes in High School Musical 3 were highly inspiring to Thaddeus and when ever we watch it, he dances along. One night we decided to record some of our favorite dance moves from the song, "The boys are back".



When Thaddeus is not dancing, is modeling his unique fashions!!!















One night Thaddeus couldn't find any pants. Mom told him that there were pants downstairs and thaddeus being a little self-conscious about stripping through the house so he decided that a foam roll would be better!! Don't you just love him?!
